Joma is set to exceed its sales for pre-lockdown 2019 by 15 to 20 percent, according to Diffusion Sport. Production director Fortu López told the trade publication at the recent Micam trade show that “the company is meeting expectations. Indeed, we’re exceeding our goals, which were to return to our pre-pandemic business levels, which we will now be leaving behind.” Joma is enjoying growth in footwear and textiles but seeing its greatest growth in items relating to sports such as football, futsal, running and pádel.

For the moment the downturn in Western economies seems to be passing the Spanish firm by. “Our company,” said López, “continues to gain market share” and has “observed no change in demand, prices or certain tendencies among consumers. In our case, the public continues opting for a more technical and, indeed, higher-end product.”

Operating in more than a hundred countries, Joma generates more than half of its revenues through exports, its chief markets being Italy and elsewhere in Europe. It is headquartered in Toledo, Spain.
