Genesco has acquired H.S. Trask, an American brand of outdoor and casual shoes that uses leather made from the skins of American bisons, elks and longhorns. Based in Montana, it has been for many years the property of a financially shaky U.S. company, Phoenix Footwear. Genesco, parent company of Journeys, is only taking over the brand name and other selected assets. The turnover of H.S. Trask was not given, but Phoenix' latest results indicate that it geneated less than $1 million in the first quarter of this year (more in Shoe Intelligence).
