Globeride, the Japanese fishing tackle company previously known as Daiwa Seiko, improved its net profit by 26 percent to 1,776 million yen (€17.1m-$23.1m) for the first six months ended Sept. 30, in spite of lower sales and operating results. Revenues slipped by 9 percent to ¥29.7 billion (€286.2m-$385.7m), and operating income declined by 2 percent to ¥2.43 billion (€23.4m-$31.6m). For the full year, Globeride is now forecasting net income of ¥880 million (€8.5m-$11.4m) on sales of ¥55.5 billion (€534.8m-$720.7m).
