Groupe Go Sport's sales moved up by 8.6 percent to €406 million for the first half of this year, as reported by its majority shareholder, the Rallye group. On a same-store basis and in constant currencies, its sales were up by 4.2 percent for the six months. The entire retail network's sales were up by 3.4 percent to €486 million. The report doesn't provide any breakdown on the sales of the group's retail brands, which include Go Sport and Courir. However, it added that the repositioning of Go Sport France was leading to sustained improvements in its comparable store sales, and claimed that it had resulted in market share gains. Go Sport in Poland opened two points of sale in a context of intense international competition, and the closure of stores on two Sundays per month. This has to do with changes in Polish retail trading regulations that came into effect in March and that will lead to a ban on nearly all trade on all Sundays from 2020, with seven exceptions before Easter and Christmas. Rallye claims market share gains for the Courir banner as well. It continued to expand with the opening of five integrated stores and eight affiliated stores in France, as well as two in Spain and two in Poland. The half-year has been marked by a partnership with Endurance Shop, a group of retailers specializing in running products, and rumors of a potential sale of Courir, on which Rallye declined to comment.
