Halfords Group of the U.K. has sacked its chief executive, David Wild, after four years at the helm. The company released an interim management statement for its first quarter up to June 29 in which it reported a drop of 5.6 percent in same-store sales, mainly due to a 7.5 percent fall in same-store retail sales. Dennis Millard, non-executive chairman, will serve as interim chief executive of the British auto repair company and bicycle retailer until a permanent replacement is found. Wild will not be proposed for re-election as a director at the company's annual general meeting on July 31.
