Peloton Interactive has revealed that it is under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security about its reporting of the treadmill accidents that resulted in a much-publicized product recall earlier this year. Peloton is also being investigated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, focusing on the public disclosures that it made regarding the related injuries and a child’s death. The connected fitness company is already facing a variety of personal injury and shareholders’ lawsuits related to the incidents and their effect on its share price, which has been falling down in the past couple of weeks.
