YouGov has conducted a new study on the German E-sports market. The global market research company puts one of its main focuses on the E-sports business since it entered an exclusive research and data analysis partnership with the gaming business media outlet Business of Esports last year.

The new study (available in German here) that focuses on the German market sees three percent of German consumers interested in E-sports. According to the segmentation tool YouGov profiles, 76 percent of E-sports fans in Germany are male and aged 18 to 24 (30 percent vs. 9 percent of the total population). Their great interest in computer games coincides with their digital affinity in social media: Nearly three in four esports fans are active on YouTube (72 percent vs. 45 percent of the total population), 66 percent on Instagram (vs. 45 percent), 46 percent on Twitter (vs. 19 percent), and 34 percent on TikTok (vs. 17 percent of the total population).

Besides the new local study, YouGov regularly gives insights into E-sports and gaming on its YouTube channel for different markets and marketing aspects for brands involved in the E-sports world.
