Germany’s sporting goods industry association is changing leadership as the sector faces mounting pressure on digitalization and sustainability. Dr. Christoph Moeller takes the helm at BSI on July 1, 2026.

Dr. Christoph Moeller will become Managing Director of the Bundesverband der Deutschen Sportartikel-Industrie (BSI – the German Sporting Goods Industry Association) on July 1, 2026. Outgoing Managing Director Stefan Rosenkranz, who has led the BSI for an undisclosed period, will remain until August before moving on to new responsibilities.

Moeller is a former professional handball player with more than 14 years of leadership experience. His career spans scientific sports game analysis, strategic communications, and consultancy for clubs, associations, and professional leagues, including the Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH (DFL – German Football League) and the Deutscher Basketball Bund (DBB – German Basketball Federation). Most recently, he served as Senior Consultant in the public sector, leading administrative modernization projects, structural reforms, and the development of long-term organizational strategies.

Moeller will work out of Berlin, keeping the association’s leadership close to the policy environment it must engage. In that role he reports directly to the BSI’s two-person presidency: Marina Moguš of adidas AG and Jan Lorch of VAUDE Sport GmbH & Co. KG.
