Salomon is giving the executive who owns its long-term plan a seat among those who carry it out. With distribution widening and ties to Amer Sports tightening, strategy gets a direct line to the decisions that shape both.

Salomon has promoted Katharina Bahde to Vice President Global Strategy & Transformation and appointed her to its Executive Board, giving long-term planning a seat at the top table as sales accelerate.

Bahde joined in 2024 as Senior Director for the same function and reports to President Guillaume Meyzenq. In the new role she will keep shaping Salomon’s long-term strategic plan and lead transformation initiatives that convert company goals into operating priorities.

She describes her work as sitting at the “intersection of ambition and execution”. Before Salomon she worked in consulting and finance, including at Boston Consulting Group and Goldman Sachs, with experience in transformation and mergers and acquisitions.

For Salomon, the promotion formalizes a role that has grown in weight. Strategy now sits alongside the executives who must deliver the plan, while the brand deepens its collaboration with Amer Sports.

The promotion follows a quarter of strong but moderating growth. Outdoor Performance, the Amer Sports segment led by Salomon, grew sales 37 percent to $569 million (€491 million) in the second quarter, down from 42 percent in the first. It remains the group’s fastest-growing division, ahead of Technical Apparel at 32 percent and Ball & Racquet Sports at 24 percent. SGIE reported in August that Wilson’s faster pace helped offset the cooling at Salomon.
