Newfeel, Decathlon’s private brand of shoes for exercise walking, has unveiled a new racewalking shoe with accompanying apparel: men’s and women’s rain jackets, windbreakers, T-shirts, talk tops and shorts. The RW900 is meant to come out in advance of the Olympic racewalking trials scheduled for Aug. 5-6 in Tokyo, 20 of whose competitors are being sponsored by the brand. The shoe owes its physical design in part to the counsel of professional racewalkers, such as Yohann Diniz, the 50km world champion. In keeping with the occasion, the RW900’s colorways, like those of the apparel, take inspiration from the colors of Japan. The first Newfeel range was launched by the French retailer in 2009.
