Nike is introducing the Nike AU Collection, the first Express Lane capsule collection inspired by Australia. The company’s so-called “Express Lane” strategy, rolled out in 2016, allows Nike to cut down from months to a few weeks the time between the product’s design and its availability at retail. Nike reminded in its statement that “one of the missions of Nike Express Lane is to create products inspired by local culture.” The new women’s capsule features a range of hemp and fleece crews, T-shirts, jackets and tracksuit pants, as well as limited-edition versions of the Air Max 270, Dunk Low and Air Max 90 sneakers. The products are inspired by the rugged Australian landscape, with colors and textures drawn from Australia’s nature. The Nike AU Collection is currently available for Nike Members at Dream Arena on George Street in Sydney and will be available to the wider Pacific marketplace on July 27.
