Emerging from a field of more than 20 firms, Padelgest has won the contract to build a pádel court inside the so-called Steinway Tower, according to CMDsport. This building, the world’s slenderest skyscraper by the ratio of its base to its height (1:23), forms part of a complex called 111 West 57th Street in New York City. It is adjacent to the old Steinway Hall, of piano fame, and was designed by SHoP Architects. Padelgest’s engineer says: “We had never had to conceive a way to divide all the pieces so that the court could be lifted as in a game of Tetris.” The Catalonian firm raised its revenues by 21 percent last year to a new record of over €5 million. Speaking to CMDsport in March, CEO Sergi Estupinya said that sales were up year-on-year for Q1 2023.
