The Spanish specialty retailer Pádel Nuestro is the official sponsor of this year’s inaugural edition of the Tampere Exhibition, scheduled for June 30 to July 3 in Finland. This will be the farthest north the World Pádel Tour (WPT) has yet penetrated. The Scandinavian country is said to contain some 60,000 pádel players and 650 courts already, which are expected to rise to 100,000 and 1,000 respectively over the next year.
In addition, Pádel Nuestro has added to its sponsorship roster the three French players, Alix Collombon, Benjamin Tison and Thomas Leygue. Collombon, currently 20th in the WPT’s women’s ranking, has won the Challenger de La Nucía and the Challenger de Alfafar. Tison is France’s top-ranked male player and was the country’s first player to qualify for the WPT finals at the Vigo Open. Leygue, at 21 years of age, ranks just behind Tison in France.
