Vans is paying tribute to the skate legend Jeff Grosso with a new Grosso Forever collection. Grosso, who prematurely died in March 2020 at the age of 51, wore Vans for 50 years, the brand said. The collection leads with the Skate Sk8-Hi, which features re-issued colorways and iconic designs that Grosso sported during important moments in his early career. Alongside the shoe, and as part of the collection, Vans is also offering special-edition Grosso Forever apparel that showcases artwork by two of Grosso’s longtime friends, Bryce Kanights and John Lucero, with royalties directed to Grosso’s son Oliver and his family. Grosso gained notoriety in the sport in the 1980s, and was also known for his self-deprecating humor and antagonistic spirit. In the course of his career, he became an unofficial skate historian, helping to create ten years of Vans’ “Love Letters to Skateboarding” with his commentary on the industry. Together with the new Grosso Forever collection, Vans has just released a new ”Love Letters To Skateboarding” episode that solely features the late skateboarder and celebrates his life, in his own words.
