Decathlon is about to open its first store in Panama in partnership with La Forme, a joint venture of local retail groups Bennu (formerly Phoenix Group) and Dormen, Modaes has revealed. The store will be located in the Multiplaza Pacific shopping mall. Panama has a population of 4.4 million and a GDP per capita of more than US$17,000 (World Bank data referred to 2022), one of the highest in Latin America. Decathlon posted net sales of €15.4 billion in 2022, representing a 12 percent increase from 2021. The French sporting goods retail chain is present in 72 territories globally and has a workforce of nearly 105,000 people.
