Decathlon has inaugurated its first shop-in-shop in collaboration with the Auchan chain of hypermarkets. Both retail banners are controlled by the Mulliez family and many of their stores in certain countries are located in the same shopping malls. The new Decathlon shop-in-shop is located at the Auchan hypermarket in Saint-Jean de la Ruelle, near the French city of Orléans. The opening follows a collaboration with a French grocery chain, Franprix, and five tests at different French locations that Decathlon and Auchan Retail France had been carrying on together since April. The new 360-square-meter shop-in-shop, which is run by a staff of seven Decathlon employees, has been set up at the main entrance of the Auchan hypermarket, near the textiles section. Customers can also use a free click & collect service.
