Liberated Brands (Liberated) unveiled a bold plan to eliminate per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS) from its Spyder skiwear line starting in autumn 2024.
A comprehensive assessment of Spyder products has led to a strategic multi-season initiative to phase out PFAS across its branded skiwear. As Spyder is one of the leading names in outdoor and active lifestyle apparel, its transition to PFAS-free materials could set a new standard for the industry.
Brady Collings, General Manager of Spyder at Liberated, emphasized the importance of this initiative, saying, “We’re proud to lead the charge in making Spyder skiwear PFAS-free. This decision reflects our dedication to providing high-quality products that align with our consumers’ values and contribute to a healthier environment.”
Bryhn Ireson, VP of Product of Spyder at Liberated, highlighted the brand’s commitment to innovation. “Our focus on technology and sustainability has driven us to make this significant change. Transitioning to PFAS-free materials is a pivotal step towards reducing our environmental footprint.”
Spyder has made similar technological advancements in its integration of technologies like EXO Shield and GridWeb.
