The Sports & Leisure unit of the New Wave Group, including the Craft and Cutter & Buck brands along with licenses for Speedo and Umbro, lifted its sales by just 3 percent excluding acquisitions in the second quarter of this year. The unit still ended the quarter with sales of 473 million Swedish kronor (€57.3m-$71.7m), up by 28 percent, due to the two buys it made last year: Ahead, an American golf cap and apparel brand, and Paris Glove, a Canadian glove company. While increasing its sales, the unit suffered from a lower operating margin. Its Ebitda contracted to SEK 23.8 million (€2.9m-$3.6m), down by SEK 2.1 million compared with the same period last year, even though the acquired companies contributed SEK 6.1 million (€738,800-$925,300).
