A draft report has surfaced about investigations being carried out in Brussels into dumping practices and subsidies for e-bikes made in China, according to MLex, a press agency covering regulatory news in the U.S., Europe, Southeast Asia and Australia. The draft reportedly recommends anti-subsidy duties of up to 16.14 percent for companies like Bodo Vehicle Group, Giant Electric Vehicles and Jinhua Vision Industry. It also recommends cutting the proposed anti-dumping duty from 83.6 percent to 79.3 percent. Bike Europe says that it is on the basis of this report that the European Commission will draft its “final disclosure letter” to cooperating stakeholders and other parties. The Commission will be accepting comments from stakeholders until Nov. 26. The deadline for the decision to levy the duties is Jan. 19, 2019.
