Asics will celebrate the 2015 TCS New York City Marathon with the “World's Biggest Selfie Stick,” an eight-story-tall interactive structure at Gansevoort Plaza in Manhattan. Asics America is the official footwear and apparel partner of the marathon, while Tata Consulting Services (TCS) is premier partner and the title sponsor. Asics' selfie sticwok will be open to the public on Oct. 29-31, just ahead of the marathon, which will be run on Nov. 1. At Gansevoort Plaza participants will attach their phones into a custom “selfie-orb” and push the launch button. This will trigger the phone's built-in video function and send the phone along the 90-foot, high-speed track into the sky. Once it reaches its highest point, the phone will pause and capture a special message, then begin its trip back down. Participants will have an original selfie video to share across social media using the hashtag #GoRunIt. Besides the selfie stick, Asics' marathon programs include a special collection of New York City Marathon-branded gear, social and digital initiatives, as well as charitable contributions and a broad media plan around the theme of the brand's global ad campaign, “It's a Big Race. Go Run It.”
