Adidas Golf is introducing two new material concepts – Twistknit and Twistwave – aimed at redefining performance on the golf course. These innovations are available in both men’s and women’s Ultimate365 apparel.
The knits are developed by specialized teams within Adidas Golf, and represent a new “frontier in material technology”. Engineered to enhance flexibility and reduce weight and density, these concepts revolutionize the golfer’s experience on the course, according to the brand.
The process involves post-construction manipulation of yarns, creating a coiled, or ‘twisted,’ structure within the fabric. This unique design acts like micro-springs, offering freedom of movement while providing essential support to maintain the garment’s form. Adidas Golf’s research revealed that Twistknit and Twistweave pieces boast a remarkable 30 to 40 percent reduction in overall weight compared to similar products, further optimizing performance without compromising comfort.
Shaun Madigan, Global Director of Apparel at Adidas Golf, emphasized the brand’s commitment to performance-driven design, stating: “Ultimate365 is our apparel range where we lead with performance…Twistknit and Twistweave bring this ethos to life in a completely new way.”
Chase Aaronson, Senior Manager of Materials Development, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the potential of the fabrics to “revolutionize performance apparel across sports.”
