Le Coq Sportif has launched the construction of an extension to its French sports clothing factory at Romilly-sur-Seine that will employ 80 persons, joining the 100-odd employees of its existing plant. Measuring 3,000 square meters, it should come on stream at the end of 2022. Yannick Noah and other brand ambassadors participated in the kick-off ceremony. While relying on its own factory in Morocco for some of its requirements, the French sports brand owned by Airesis has been privileging the production of its apparel close to its main markets in order to respond more quickly to the demand and to avoid delays in deliveries, which is turning out to be useful in the present international context of supply chain disruptions. The Romilly factory uses some fabrics that are knitted and colored by suppliers located 40 km away. Le Coq has been the official supplier of the Tour de France for the past ten years, and it will dress up the French team at the Olympic Games in 2022 and 2024.
