Danny Menken, former Managing Director at Eurosport and co-founder of Eleven Sports, and Karim Ben Rejeb, a former JPMorgan investment banker, are launching Athvance Capital, a new “European investment platform created to unlock the next wave of value in global sport,” as explained in a Linked In post on the Athvance Capital’s page.

Athvance Capital combines financial resources with extensive operational expertise to develop an ecosystem spanning sports, media, and technology. The firm focuses on under-commercialized segments of the global sports industry and expanding assets with international potential.

To introduce Athvance Capital, Menken said: “We strongly believe that unlocking long-term value in European sports requires more than capital alone. It demands an ecosystem approach that combines patient capital with operational expertise, technology, commercial capabilities and close collaboration with founders and rights-holders. That belief sits at the very core of Athvance.”

In partnership with their founders and operators, Athvance Capital has already deployed capital across a portfolio of majority investments with an existing presence in Spain, the Netherlands, France, the UK and Portugal. These include ve2.ventures, the tech and sports venue studio behind platforms such as Flyfut and PadelPlay, as well as multi-club football ownership platform Estrella Football Group, among others. Athvance said it is currently in the process of closing additional acquisitions that will further strengthen the platform. Goodwin Procter LLP is acting as Athvance Capital’s legal counsel.
