Czech-based indoor cycling platform Rouvy has announced the acquisition of Bkool for an undisclosed amount. Bkool is, like Rouvy, an indoor cycling app and specialized in virtual cycling routes.

Bkool brings a technology that converts GPX files into 3D routes, complementing Rouvy’s Route Creator. Furthermore, Bkool has a strong user base in Spain, French-speaking markets and Denmark. The move follows Rouvy’s previous acquisition of FulGaz and aims to consolidate its position in the virtual cycling segment.

No changes for Bkool users announced
Bkool will continue to operate as a standalone brand within The Rouvy Group. The initial focus will be on stabilizing the platform, followed by a user feedback phase to define long-term development. According to the companies, Bkool’s shift away from hardware and its recent financial challenges played a role in the acquisition.
Rouvy CEO Petr Samek will also take over Bkool’s leadership. No major changes for current users of either platform have been announced at this stage.
