Reacting to the attacks of animal welfare activists, Canada Goose has introduced a new Fur Buy Back program to help achieve the declared goal of ending the purchase of new furs by 2022, while introducing reclaimed fur into the supply chain. A global Reclaimed Fur Working Group has created an end-to-end process for the initiative introduced on the brand’s website. Through the program, consumers will be able to return their new or used Canada Goose fur and receive a credit to use toward future purchases with the brand. In its second sustainability report, the company has set three new goals:
- Adopting renewable energy commitments by the end of 2022
- Investing in energy efficiency and renewable energy purchases and/or installation by 2023
- Investing in renewable energy credits as needed until 2025
