The eBay Foundation has announced nearly $3 million in Global Give grants for 2024, awarded to 31 nonprofit organizations across the globe. These grants aim to promote inclusive entrepreneurship by helping historically excluded groups overcome barriers to business success. Key grantees include Defy Ventures, which supports formerly incarcerated individuals in the US with entrepreneurial training; Hatch Enterprise, which bridges the “opportunity gap” for underrepresented entrepreneurs in the UK; and Global Sisters, which helps Australian women achieve financial independence through micro-business support.
Defy Ventures, a multi-year grantee, offers entrepreneurship and personal development programs for over 5 million formerly incarcerated Americans, working to reduce recidivism and unemployment rates. Hatch Enterprise empowers over 1,100 entrepreneurs annually through its Launchpad, Incubator and Accelerator programs, offering grants and mentorship. Meanwhile, Global Sisters provides Australian women – many of whom face challenges such as unemployment or domestic violence – with flexible income-generating opportunities and business coaching.
With these funds, eBay Foundation continues its mission to foster economic growth by supporting initiatives that create opportunities for underrepresented groups worldwide. The programs will further extend their reach, providing more comprehensive resources and opportunities for growth to individuals who face barriers to traditional business pathways.
