The Lycra Company has appointed Steve Stewart as chief innovation officer, a newly created position in which he will be responsible for leading the company’s technology and strategic marketing teams. Stewart will also be responsible for accelerating the pace of development of innovative products and platforms for brands and retailers. Prior to this position, Stewart was Lycra’s vice president for apparel in Asia, responsible for business and operations in Asia, including Greater China, Singapore, Japan, Korea, India and other Asian countries. Based in Shanghai since 2014, Stewart was previously the company’s commercial director for  North Asia and global marketing director for Bodywear, Swimwear and Active Outdoor. Before working at Invista and The Lycra Company, he worked for Boeing, Dupont and W.L. Gore & Associates. Stewart will be based at Lycra’s U.S. headquarters.
