Italian teamwear brand Macron has announced a 15 percent sales increase to €196 million in 2023. Growth was homogeneous across the various markets in which the company operates, with excellent performance in its three main markets, including the UK, Italy, and Spain. International sales account for 80 percent of Macron’s turnover.

Macron has a retail network of 167 mono-brand stores in more than 30 countries as part of its Macron Sports Hub project, launched in 2010. There were 17 new openings in 2023, including Prague and Johannesburg, the first stores in these countries. The company plans to open at least another 15 stores internationally by the end of 2024.

Macron is the technical sponsor of more than 90 professional clubs worldwide in various sports. The brand has been confirmed among the top four brands in the UEFA ranking of technical football sponsorships in Europe for the fifth consecutive year. Rugby also plays a major role in its sponsorship deals. In the Rugby World Cup 2023, which was held in France last year, seven out of 20 nations were outfitted by Macron. In the Six Nations 2024, which kicks off on Feb. 2, three of the six participating teams are outfitted by Macron: Italy, Scotland, and Wales.

In December, Macron announced a €25 million investment for the construction of two new buildings at its campus near Bologna, in an area adjoining its headquarters in Valsamoggia. The overall headquarters complex will nearly double, from 55,000 to around 100,000 square meters, including offices, showrooms, production activities, storage, shipping areas for finished products, sports fields for testing materials and lots of greenery. Earlier this year, Macron updated its digital structure by adopting a new ERP system – “SAP S/4HANA Cloud” – to manage purchasing, sales, logistics and production activities.

In 2023, the company said it supported 48 social solidarity projects and donated a total of €291,368 to those projects.
