Boardriders Trading España, the Spanish subsidiary of Boardriders, generated a net profit in FY24 of €2.09 million, up 245 percent from FY23’s €606,105 – according to Palco23. Sales amounted to €53 million, down 7.3 percent year-on-year. Other operating income is down as well, from about €2.5 million to €1.72 million.

Management states in the accounts, according to Palco23, that it is declining to break down sales by category or region lest the information cause “serious damage to the company,” but it does ascribe the decline to a general slowdown in the sector. The subsidiary has also cut costs, allocating less to supplies (-5.8%), personnel (-4.1%) and operating expenses (-13.9%).

Boardriders owns a number of surf and skate brands – Quiksilver, Billabong, Roxy, RVCA, Element, DC Shoes, VonZipper – and has itself been under the ownership of Authentic Brands Group (ABG) since 2023.

In June 2024 ABG struck a deal with the French company Beaumanoir to handle licensing for the aforementioned brands in Western Europe, Spain included. The former license holder for North America, Liberated Brands, filed for bankruptcy this past February.
