Halfords Group registered a decline in cycling revenues on a same-store basis of 8.8 percent for the 11-week period ended March 29. For the 52-week period ended March 29, cycling sales were off by 0.6 percent. The group's total revenues increased by 1.7 percent over the last quarter. In the full financial year, the group saw an increase of 1 percent in total revenues, with a 13.5 percent rise for autocenters more than offsetting a 0.9 percent drop-off in retail sales. The British group operates more than 460 stores in the U.K. and Ireland which sell automotive, leisure and cycling products. The group also operates a chain of 280 auto service centers. The latest quarterly results were affected by the cold weather in the U.K., which contributed to the decline in outdoor-focused divisions but benefited the car maintenance business of the group, whose revenues grew by 10.4 percent. The group's management confirmed that pre-tax profit was in line with a prior forecast of between £68 million (€79.5m - $104m) and £72 million (€84.2m - $110.2m).
