Halti, the Finnish winter sports and outdoor apparel brand, has just completed a strategic review after the arrival of a new chief executive, Jukka-Pekka Vuori, earlier this year. Vuori was previously the chief marketing officer at Fonecta, a Finnish company specialized in media. He replaced Martti Uusitalo, who remains one of the company's shareholders and a member of its supervisory board. Uusitalo had been the chief executive since 2009. The switch came after a majority stake in Halti was acquired by the Ingman Group, an investment company owned by a Finnish family specialised in dairy products. Halti's sales have dwindled from €30.5 million in 2011, the last full year before the change of ownership, to €23.5 million last year. While still focusing on ski and outdoor apparel, Halti wants to spend more resources on the active lifestyle and multisport categories, to help mitigate the impact of milder winters. The company is preparing to appoint a new chief commercial officer and a new chief marketing officer, both joining in September. The marketing job was held until the end of July by Kalle Söderholm, who is setting up his own agency to start with the distribution of Converse eyewear and the CR7 apparel range by Cristiano Ronaldo in Finland and Russia.
