Kim Hanna, the co-founder and CEO of international cotton controlling company TransGlobal Inspections, has been appointed as president of the International Cotton Association (ICA). Hanna, voted at ICA’s annual general meeting earlier this month, will be the first female to serve as ICA’s president in the 180 years of history of the global international cotton trade association and arbitral body. ICA’s leadership team also includes Mohomed Bashir (chairman, Gul Ahmed Textile Mills) as first vice-president and Pierre Chehab (head of Cotton Europe, Louis Dreyfus Company) as second vice-president. New to ICA’s board, which comprises 23 members, are Chris Williams (partner, EHW Ltd) and Josh Taylor (senior trader, Viterra BV). Hanna began her career in cotton in 1982 as a secretary at Edward T. Robertson & Son. She was elected to the ICA board of directors in 2019.
