Just eight months after signing a three-year partnership with Dryworld, a Canadian sports apparel and footwear supplier, Watford football club has switched to Adidas for at least three years, starting from next summer. The Premier League club's agreement with Dryworld was described as the largest ever obtained by the Hornets, but they apparently decided to terminate the deal early. The same already occurred with Queen's Park Rangers: The London club had reportedly signed a ten-year partnership with Dryworld earlier this year but alleged that the supplier had failed to make payments and deliveries on time. Launched in 2010 by two former rugby players, the Canadian-based brand went for a spate of football club partnerships in the last two years, from England to India and Brazil, with clubs including Atlético Mineiro and Fluminense. The brand prides itself on its Dryskyn technology. In September, Santa Cruz from Brazil ended its agreement with Dryworld to team up with Penalty instead. A few days after the switch by Watford, Atlético Mineiro reportedly terminated a four-year contract agreed with Dryworld in September 2015, referring to pending financial and contractual issues. The Brazilian club switched to Topper for four years from the 2017 season.
