Sportscape Group has appointed Andy Anson as its new chief executive officer. He succeeds Sébastien Rohart, who is leaving the company after several years at the helm.

Andy Anson was most recently CEO of the British Olympic Association, a role he held from 2020 until this summer. His career includes leadership positions across sports and business, with previous roles at Manchester United, ATP Europe and England’s 2018 FIFA World Cup bid.
At Sportscape, Anson will be responsible for driving the group’s international growth strategy. The company operates Private Sport Shop and SportPursuit, serving customers across multiple European markets.
When asked about his main focus, Anson told SGIE: “The big focus is on growth. To deliver this we will continue to focus on developing deeper relationships with our brand partners, building up our member base ensuring that we are front of mind, and targeting focused, tailored expansion in key international markets. It is also vital that we unlock the benefits of the Group with both SportPursuit and PrivateSportShop working closely together, especially now both are on the same technology platform.”
Private Sport Shop and Sportpursuit are leading European online discount retailers
Sportscape has grown into one of Europe’s leading online discount retailers for sporting goods, but faces a competitive landscape shaped by changing consumer demand, macroeconomic headwinds and the ongoing integration of digital channels. The new leadership is expected to focus on strengthening brand partnerships, improving profitability and scaling its community-driven retail model.
According to Sportscape’s website the platforms have more than 24 million members and 3 million fans on social media. Sportscape works together with more than 3,000 brands.
