Spanish online retailer TradeInn has made changes to its board of directors, appointing Javier Pérez-Tenessa as Non-Executive Chairman and Jonathan Nielsen as a member, according to Diffusion Sport.

Both will be working with CEO David Martin on strategy, and both will be investing in the company alongside Hybrid Value Funds, one of the investment arms of Apollo Global Management (New York City). Hybrid led Apollo’s purchase of a 30 percent stake in TradeInn last year.

In 2000, along with James Hare and Mauricio Prieto, Pérez-Tenessa co-founded eDreams (which has since moved from Silicon Valley to Barcelona) and long served as its CEO. He also co-founded, in 2017, the venture-capital firm 4Founders, which has a predilection for SaaS, marketplaces, fintech and AI. He has served on the board of Lastminute.com and Vueling Airlines.

Nielsen’s most recent high-profile post was with Backcountry, the online retailer of outdoor gear and apparel. Hired in 2010, he served as CEO from 2016 to 2020, overseeing such brands as Competitive Cyclist and MotoSport as well as the company’s European expansion through Bergfreunde. Earlier in his career he worked in M&A and corporate strategy at eBay.
