Dakine and Gore-Tex have announced a new industry initiative called “Gloves for Gloves.” The project kicked off in 2023 with the donation of over 2,000 pairs of gloves to those living in colder regions. The plan now is for Dakine to expand the program to Canada and Europe, with a goal to reach global coverage by 2025.
“People and trust are at the core of Dakine. Gloves for Gloves is a natural way for the brand to do what’s right and partner with people that have a need,” said Shane Wallace, VP of Global Sales at Dakine.
Encouraging the snow industry to trade in their gloves for new pairs of Dakine gloves featuring Gore-Tex, the program aims to provide warm gloves to local homeless shelters, youth sports programs, food banks, and rescue missions in the areas they are collected.
Once the gloves are exchanged, they undergo inspection and cleaning before being redistributed to the local community.
