Fischer Sports has released what it claims is the lightest rollerski on the market, made entirely of carbon to achieve the flexion and torsional resistance of a regular ski. Fischer has sought to give the Speedmax Classic, as it is called, a slim profile so as to balance high ground clearance with low standing position. It comes in two sizes: 830 grams, for people weighing up to 85 kg, and a stiffer 850 grams for heavier people. The wheels are 45 mm wide and 70 mm tall. As Fischer points out in its press release, the Speedmax Classic scored highest in side-by-side rollerski tests conducted by German ski magazine xc-ski.de.
