With a new shin guard aiming for slalom ski racers that is easily and quickly customizable, Leki and its material partner Sidas aim at specialized ski retailers who serve ambitious amateur ski racers. Unlike the individualized shin guards used in elite sports, which are fitted to professional athletes in lengthy processes, the new product features thermoformable inserts made of Podiamic, which allow the guards to be quickly adjusted in the store. The inserts that are available in two different versions are heated up in the oven and can be adjusted to the owner’s leg within ten minutes.
