According to reports in the Italian newspaper La Stampa, New Balance will take over from Nike as the kit sponsor of AS Roma, the Italian Serie A football club. The new four-year deal, which would start in the 2021/22 season, is now awaiting final approval from Dan Friedkin, the new majority owner of the club. Nike’s ten-year sponsorship agreement with AS Roma, which was supposed to end in the 2023/24 season, was prematurely terminated in July of this year, as reported by SGI Europe on July 17. At the time, based on a report in Corriere dello Sport - Stadio, Under Armour appeared to be in line to take Nike’s place.
