Nike will be keeping its Nike Training Club (NTC) app free of charge, and the brand has initiated a digital marketing campaign to spread the news. The company eliminated NTC’s premium fee temporarily in April, during the Covid-19 quarantines. NTC was designed as a subscription service delivering workouts, training programs and tips from trainers. During the company’s conference call on June 25, Nike’s president and chief executive, John Donahoe, said that workouts on the NTC app had more than tripled in the fourth quarter ended in May, with April scoring nearly five million workouts per week and the quarter as a whole 18 million. “Digital,” he also said, “grew nearly 100 percent,” and the Nike Training Club and Nike Running Club apps enjoyed 200 percent growth in memberships.
