Puma will sponsor the United Soccer League (USL), the second division for global soccer in the U.S., for the next three years. It will also be the national partner of a newly formed USL Academy League, which is due to start with more than 50 clubs in 25 states next spring, giving youngsters an opportunity to play soccer at a higher level. The German brand will provide uniforms for league officials and create on-site activations at major USL events. The clubs affiliated with the leagues will not have to wear Puma jerseys, but the brand is already outfitting two of them, the Oakland Roots and Mexico United.
