Tradeinn has plans to develop a brand of its own. The Spanish e-tailer – which operates a single physical store (in Celrà) and more than a dozen separate websites (divvied up by sport) – was in Barcelona for Eshow, the trade fair for e-commerce and digital marketing. There, according to Diffusion Sport’s report on the speech, CEO David Martín Gayà explained that Tradeinn is looking to increase profits and maintain a margin of at least 10 percent year after year. The own-brand would be in line with this objective, although Gayà does not foresee its ever exceeding 3 percent of total sales.
The CEO’s response to a question from Carlos Blanco, founder of Encomenda&Nuclio, revealed the average Tradeinn order amounts to €80-€85. The average rises in the winter because of the greater expense of winter sporting goods. He also said that Tradeinn currently carries about 6,000 brands and two million products in an operation present in 150 countries.
