Puma has appointed a new general manager for Europe, Richard Teyssier, effective from Sept. 1, taking over many of the functions of Arne Freundt, who joined the executive board as chief commercial officer of the company in June.
Teyssier, 53, has served as area general manager for Puma France since 2010, after working for MARS for 17 years. At Puma France, which is moving to a new location in Strasbourg, he will be replaced by the 47-year-old Christophe Cance, a former rugbyman who has worked for Puma since 2008 in different functions, most recently as commercial director, after working for Adidas and as French country manager of New Balance.
Reporting to Freundt, Teyssier will move to the company’s head office in Herzogenaurach to oversee operations in France and the rest of Southern Europe, Central Europe, the U.K. and Ireland and the Nordics as well as European retail operations in general. His territory is a little different from that of the 41-year-old Freundt, a ten-year veteran of the company who had taken responsibility for the whole EMEA region in 2019.
