Under Armour has signed a multi-year global partnership deal with the National Basketball Association (NBA) focusing on the youth market. The brand has become the title partner of the NBA Draft Combine and presenting partner of the Jr. NBA, the league's youth basketball program. In addition, Under Armour and the NBA will launch the NBA FIT mobile application, powered by UA Record, the brand's Connected Fitness platform. Under Armour has been a league partner since 2011 but this new agreement significantly expands the existing partnership. As the title partner, starting in 2018 Under Armour will become the outfitter of the NBA Draft Combine, a multi-day showcase occurring every May prior to the annual June NBA draft where invited college players perform various tests in front of NBA coaches, managers and scouts. As a presenting partner of the Jr. NBA, starting this October in the U.S. Under Armour will aim at engaging five million 6-14 year-olds during the first two years of the program through a series of basketball clinics, skills challenges and regional tournaments, with the purpose of developing a lifelong passion for basketball. The Jr. NBA will also include programs from affiliated youth basketball organizations, resources for coaches, and educational digital content for kids and parents.
