World Rugby, the world governing body for the sport of rugby union, has confirmed the locations for the next three women’s and two men’s Rugby World Cups. At its Annual Meeting in Dublin on May 12, the organization’s council unanimously approved the staging of Rugby World Cups in the following countries: England to host Rugby World Cup 2025 (women’s); Australia to host Rugby World Cup 2027 (men’s) and 2029 (women’s); and the U.S. to host Rugby World Cup 2031 (men’s) and 2033 (women’s). The U.S. will stage a Rugby World Cup for the first time in its history as part of a broader long-term growth plan for the sport in the country.

World Rugby Council has also approved a new partnership approach to event delivery. The new model will see World Rugby form partnerships with national unions and governments to establish a local delivery structure in each nation. This approach is supposed to enable the sport ”to realize its global potential on and off the field, driving significant social and economic benefits for host nations,” the governing body said.
