US company Yulex, which specializes in researching and producing natural latex and rubber alternatives, announced the launch of Yulex2.0, a high-performance natural rubber material poised to revolutionize the sportswear and watersports industries. After years of research and development, Yulex2.0 offers an eco-friendly alternative to neoprene, delivering enhanced elasticity and stretch.

“We saw a huge opportunity to increase the performance properties of our Yulex natural rubber, and Yulex2.0 delivers with increased elasticity and stretch,” commented Jeff Martin, founder of Yulex. The new material is already making waves in the market and is being utilized by surf and watersport brands globally. Australian surf brand Project Blank was among the first to adopt it.

In addition to Yulex2.0, Yulex is set to launch Yulastic, a spandex replacement, in late 2024. This new material is designed for use in stretchable denim, elastics and socks, offering another sustainable alternative for the textile industry. Yulex CEO Liz Bui highlighted the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation: “Replacing neoprene with Yulex natural rubber has been our focus, and now we are excited to launch our Yulastic filaments later this year.”

Founded on the principles of sustainability, Yulex continues to lead the charge in developing renewable, plant-based products. Its materials are now used by over 50 brands worldwide.
