The World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) has joined the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the world’s largest business organisation representing over 45 million companies in more than 170 countries.

The membership strengthens WFSGI’s ability to influence policy, raise awareness of challenges facing the sporting goods industry, build global alliances, and amplify the sector’s voice on ESG, trade, legal compliance, and physical inactivity.

Four engagement priorities

Policy influence and trade advocacy: WFSGI will use ICC’s trade policy forums to shape fair trade rules, address tariff and non-tariff barriers, and improve supply-chain resilience. The federation aims to leverage ICC’s credibility to strengthen its position in WTO and UN-related discussions.

Tackling global physical inactivity: WFSGI plans to use ICC’s convening power to elevate physical activity as a public health priority amongst business leaders, chambers, and policymakers, whilst advocating for workplace activity programmes and urban design supporting active lifestyles.

Technology and innovation: The federation will explore ICC’s focus on AI and digital transformation to advance initiatives in consumer insights, product innovation, and supply-chain transparency.

Global business and government network: WFSGI members will gain access to ICC’s network of chambers, governments, and companies for new market access, partnerships, and joint initiatives. The federation aims to shape multi-sector collaborations around major sporting events as economic and health catalysts.
