Rip Curl has expanded its Recycle Your Wetsuit initiative across Europe, partnering with UK-based Circular Flow to extend the life cycle of used wetsuits and reduce the environmental footprint of surfing. The announcement was made in September 2025 as part of Rip Curl’s broader global ESG strategy. The initiative, initially launched in Australia in 2021, enables surfers to drop off used wetsuits from any brand – including gloves and booties in pairs – at participating Rip Curl stores. These items are then collected, sorted, and recycled into practical neoprene products such as change mats.

“We are proud to roll out this initiative in Europe,” said Jonathan Cetran, Head of Products at Rip Curl Europe. “It marks a major step toward establishing a circular model for wetsuit recycling and reflects our commitment to a more sustainable economy.”

More than 32,000 wetsuits have been recycled globally since the program’s launch, including over 12,000 in Europe. With the new partnership, Rip Curl aims to increase that number significantly, offering a tangible recycling option for all neoprene surf accessories.

The expansion aligns with Rip Curl’s B Corp certification and ongoing efforts to integrate environmental and social responsibility into its business model. Surfers can find drop-off locations and more information at ripcurl.com or contact Rip Curl’s European customer service.
