Fairbrics, a French sustainable textile start-up, has raised more than €6.5 million in pre-Series A funding. AP Ventures lead the financing round. H&M CO:LAB, the venture capital arm of the H&M Group, joined the round alongside existing investors, including Sake Bosch. Fairbrics creates carbon-neutral fabrics for the fashion industry. The new funds will be used to build a pilot plant to produce more than 30 tons of polyester per year from CO2 and green hydrogen based on Fairbrics’ proprietary process. Under the brand name Airwear, Fairbrics is collaborating with major consumer companies to incorporate its polyester into marketable fabrics. The funds raised will enable Fairbrics to scale up its Airwear technology to a ton scale while also helping the company accelerate the development of new goods in the pipeline.
