Jay Li, the general manager of the international marketing division at Li Ning as well as the chief representative of the company's U.S. creativity center, has joined the trade committee of the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry. He was elected to the board in February as a successor to his Li Ning colleague Frank Zhang. He said that it was important for the company to be involved in the WFSGI, particularly regarding trade, as globalization brings up new issues and rising protectionism puts pressure on industry players. The trade committee, created in 2007, focuses on international trade issues facing the industry, including eliminating trade barriers, defending against trade cases, examining new product safety and testing requirements, removing restrictions that impact the supply chain, and supporting international trade agreements that benefit the industry.
